New BFSO appointment: Executive Cris Parker

Tuesday 29 April, 2014
by Cris Parker
Cris Parker, the newly appointed Executive of The BFSO, introduces herself, outlines her role and discusses her hopes for the future of The BFSO.

As the newly appointed executive of The BFSO I wanted to introduce myself briefly and give you an idea of how I can help move The BFSO forward.

I have worked at St James Ethics Centre since 2011 and have contributed to projects that align with the Centre’s mission, which is to “encourage and assist individuals and organisations to include ethical dimension in their daily lives”.

The very nature of The BFSO being a personal and voluntary commitment makes ‘marketing’ seem inappropriate, but signatories should be aware of the enormity of peer support that comes with being a signatory of The BFSO. And the way we see it - the larger the community, the more beneficial The BFSO will be to you all.

You can think of me as the ‘go to’ person for all your questions, and I welcome any suggestions you may have to continue to build on the momentum and already strong ethical standing of The BFSO.

In this role, I hope to increase awareness of The BFSO, help to drive research programs and organise forums, where you as a community can have the opportunity to be informed and also have conversations about any challenges or ethical dilemmas within your industry.

The first activation is to add The BFSO ‘lockup’ signatory logo to your email sign offs and hyperlink it to www.bfso.org. If you have not received it, or require any assistance with this, please feel free to contact me. This will allow your peers to see that you are a part of The BFSO community, and we hope you will encourage them to join you on your journey.

I am looking forward to working with you all to grow The BFSO and ensure its sustainability.
