Rob Priestley

Chairman, J.P. Morgan Australia & New Zealand


Rob Priestley is the non-executive Chairman of J.P. Morgan in Australia and New Zealand and a non-executive Director of ASX Limited.

He has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry and has worked in capital markets around the world. Rob has worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co. since 1994 and was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of J.P. Morgan Australia and New Zealand, and a member of the bank’s Asia Pacific Management Committee, roles he held for 15 years until 2017.

Prior to returning to Australia in 2002, he held a number of senior roles within J.P. Morgan internationally, including Regional Head of International Fixed Income across Asia Pacific, the Regional Head of International Fixed Income across Europe, Africa and the Middle East, as well as the Head of Global Emerging Markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Rob originally joined J.P. Morgan in Australia as Head of the Global Financial Markets business. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Rob held senior financial capital markets roles, including at Macquarie Bank after starting his career at Price Waterhouse.

He has been a director and Chairman of the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA), and a member of the Business Council of Australia. He is currently a director of the Banking and Finance Oath, a member of the Australian and Business Community Network and a member of the Tennis NSW Corporate Advisory Board. He is a Chartered Accountant and commerce graduate of the University of Melbourne.
