‘I will speak out against wrongdoing and support others who do the same’.
We regularly hear from signatories that this can be one of the most confronting tenets of the Oath... but also the most empowering. This week’s dilemma will likely spark debate in your office – which we encourage!

We regularly hear from signatories that this can be one of the most confronting tenets of the Oath... but also the most empowering. This week’s dilemma will likely spark debate in your office – which we encourage!

There is no scene to set – it’s in the screenshot (reproduced with permission).

So if you received this text message from a colleague who had recently graduated from uni and started their new (dream!) job at your organisation in the financial services industry, and they found themselves in this situation with their team… what would you do?

What ethical considerations would you give to your decision-making? Why? Why not?

We encourage you to post your answers in the comments so we can create a healthy discussion, with the aim of learning from our peers, becoming aware of differing perspectives and challenging our own biases.

This week's dilemma was provided to us on the condition of anonymity and we can do the same for you. You can email your dilemmas to dilemma@bfso.org
